It is equally important to take care of kids milk teeth. While brushing kids teeth is over quickly, it doesn’t get the job done. We recommend you to start using a fluoride free toothpaste 18 months onwards or once the kid knows how to spit.
Use a soft bristled baby toothbrush. Brush your child’s teeth twice daily for 2 minutes.
Clean your child’s teeth as the first tooth erupts in the mouth using a clean and wet muslin cloth.
Silicon baby finger brush can be used to clean teeth of child above 6 months of age till a child is not able to hold the brush. Gradually develop a habit of having a rinse with luke warm water after every meal.
The underneath steps will tell you how to brush your child’s teeth properly:
- Smear a pea sized amount of fluoride free toothpaste onto a baby toothbrush.
- Make the child sit in your lap.
- Angle the bristles of the toothbrush towards the gums.
- Move the brush in gentle circles to ctean the outer side of the teeth and gums.
- Rush gentle circles on inside of teeth and gums.
- Brush back and forth on the biting/chewing surfaces of teeth.
- After brushing encourage your child to spit out toothpaste and rinse well with water.
